Phoenix, Lady La Renew Vows
After nearly a yearlong hiatus from radio, Phoenix market pro Lady La will once again don her headphones, hired by iHeartMedia Phoenix to do nights on Hot AC KMXP (Mix 96.9) and weekends/fill-in on KZZP (104.7 Kiss FM). Lady La is a well-known commodity in the Valley of the Sun, having previously co-hosted mornings on CBS Radio Top 40 KALV (Live 101.5) and on Riviera Rhythmic KKFR (Power 98.3 & 96.1). Last September she announced her departure from the radio industry… but now she’s back!
Steve Geofferies, iHeartMedia EVP of Programming, West Division, said, “Lady La will flourish in iHeartMedia’s creative and collaborative environment. Not only is she highly regarded on the air, but her social media following is among the best. The goal of adding the country’s top talent to our team continues.” Mat Mitchell, PD of KMXP and KZZP, concurs with that assessment, saying, “Its obvious to me that Phoenix wants Lady La back on the radio. La immediately brings star power, compelling content, and established relationships with our key clients and partners. Having La represent Mix 96.9 and 104.7 Kiss FM is a huge advantage for the station brands.”
Lady La remarked, “I’m feeling refreshed and extremely excited about my future at iHeartMedia. Reuniting with Phoenix over the airwaves is an opportunity I wasn’t expecting. I am overjoyed and accept this opportunity with gratitude. As someone who leads with their heart, it goes without saying that I’d be here.” La succeeds Amy Kelly, who continues to do weekends on AC sister KESZ (99.9 KEZ).
