Witness To Sales History
At the recent Washington, DC stop of Katy Perry‘s Witness: The Tour, the Capitol Records superstar was presented with three prestigious Diamond Awards by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for her hit songs “Roar,” “Dark Horse” and “Firework” — each one representing 10 million or more sales and streams of each individual song in the United States. With these milestone certifications, Katy recently made Gold & Platinum history as the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards. To give you an idea of just how rare of an achievement this is, only 14 songs to date have earned the coveted Diamond status. During the course of Katy’s career, a total of 22 of her songs have achieved RIAA certification, and three of her studio albums have also been certified Platinum or multi-Platinum. Her recent singles from Witness, “Swish Swish” and “Chained To The Rhythm” are RIAA-certified Gold and Platinum, respectively.
