AJ Dukette: The Maine Ingredient

• After less than ten days of unemployment in Portland, ME, AJ Dukette is right back in the saddle — right across the street — as Saga’s Portland Radio Group welcomes Dukette into the family as the new morning personality for Classic Hits WYNZ (Rewind 100.9). He succeeds market icon Chuck Igo, who did his final broadcast on Friday and heads into a happy radio retirement after 40 years.

For Dukette, it’s a short commute — he spent the past five years as Brand Manager and morning co-host over on Townsquare AC 94.9 WHOM until March 20, when he exited for budgetary reasons. On Monday, March 30, Dukette begins a new Portland wake up tradition with the launch of Rewind’s AM Kickstart with AJ in the Morning.

Saga VP of Programming Bob Lawrence notes, “When we learned that Chuck was retiring, we began an extensive search for the right person to fill his shoes and then… Voila!— AJ appeared late last week! We could not be more thrilled to welcome such a talented Portland icon.”
