Hubbard W. Palm Launches Dorian Relief Effort
• Hubbard Radio’s West Palm Beach properties — WRMF, WIRK, WMBX, Party 96.3 (WMBX-HD2), WEAT, 850 WFTL and WMEN (Fox Sports 640) — in partnership with the American Red Cross just launched a two-day supply drive to help the relief efforts in the Bahamas.
The drive began at 6am ET today in the parking lot of the Hubbard Radio studios s at 701 Northpoint Parkway in West Palm Beach and will continue until 6pm. The drive will resume again at 6am Thursday and conclude at 6pm. The items most urgently needed include first aid kits, cleaning supplies, canned goods, box fans, flashlights, leather work gloves, hand sanitizer, non-perishable food, water, tarps, tents, diapers, wipes (adult and baby). Cash is most needed and will also be accepted onsite. All items collected will be loaded onto a moving truck provided by Good Greek Moving & Storage and shipped to the Bahamas quickly.
“The images coming out of the Bahamas are absolutely heartbreaking,” said Elizabeth Hamma, SVP/Market Manager of Hubbard Radio West Palm Beach. “The Bahamas are a special place to the people of South Florida, and we feel fortunate to be able to use our seven radio stations that were spared in the storm to help deliver relief quickly.”
Kevin Rolston, host of WRMF’s The KVJ Show, commented, “When you live in the Caribbean, you are family, even if you’re not in the same country. We both enjoy the beauty and devastation of our climate. What the Bahamas has gone through is unfathomable and unprecedented, but they will not go through it alone. We will show them love by taking the supplies that we ourselves had collected for the storm and giving it to them. But this is the first step… The KVJ Show & Hubbard Radio will be with the Bahamas as they rebuild back to being even stronger than they were before.”
