Penfield Taking His Talents To Dallas

RAMP has confirmed that after six years with 88.5 KCSN/Los AngelesJeff Penfield has tendered his resignation as interim PD/Director of Digital Integration and has accepted a position with North Texas Public Broadcasting as Manager, Radio Operations at NPR affiliate 90.1 KERA and Triple A KXT/Dallas. His last day at KCSN is June 28.

Penfield broke the news of his impending departure in a staff email that read, in part, “First I must thank my fellow co-workers and friends at 88.5 FM for six incredible years. The station may have a small staff, but their big hearts and dedication towards creating the best radio in Los Angeles put 88.5 FM on the map. I’m proud of the positive impact the station makes in such a unique music community.I also thank our partners for believing in our mission to support musicians. You helped 88.5 FM take chances on artists who deserve to be heard in Southern California.”

Penfield joined KCSN in 2013 as Programming Manager and was promoted to APD in Sept. 2015. He assumed the role of interim PD after the March retirement of Sky Daniels. His previous experience includes programming positions at WERS/Boston and WSGE/Charlotte. In closing, Penfield said, “Special thanks goes to Sky Daniels for taking a chance on me back in 2013. His mentorship and vast industry experience has meant so much to my career.”
