Sales ‘N Stuff

• Univision Communications Inc. announced the promotion of Danny Lowry to VP of Radio National Sales and Christine Escobar to VP/GM & Director of Sales for Univision Austin’s TV and radio stations. Lowry (left), is a 12-year company vet who most recently served as VP/GM of the Austin group. In this newly created position he will be based in Dallas and report to Dominic Fails, SVP of Local Media Sales. Escobar (right) has been with Univision since 2003 and most recently served as Director of Sales for Univision Austin. She will remain based in Austin and reports to SVP/GM Luis Fernández-Rocha.

In making the announcements, John Eck, Chief Local Media Officer said, “Danny is a world-class professional who is skilled in promoting a collaborative team culture, and he’s a leader that I know will deliver tangible results for our clients. Christine has been an invaluable member of the Univision Austin team and I can’t think of a better person to be at the helm driving the station forward into the future. Danny and Christine have been committed to our audience, community and partners since they first joined the company and I’m confident that they’ll thrive in their new roles.”

Music Choice has promoted Tom Soper to Senior Vice President, National Ad Sales. The announcement was made by Christina Tancredi, Chief Operating Officer at Music Choice. In his expanded role, Soper will lead growing Music Choice’s dynamic ad insertion footprint across traditional VOD platforms as well IP-enabled platforms. This also includes growing Music Choice’s enhanced advertising inventory for clients including addressable opportunities. He will continue to oversee the New York and Los Angeles advertising offices and foster strategic relationships with key clients and agencies.

Soper joined Music Choice in 2007 as an Account Manager and has risen through the sales ranks. He also spent a year leading the company’s Affiliate Sales team. Prior to joining Music Choice, Soper worked for The Walt Disney Company and GE.
