Maroon 5 Manager Feldstein Dies
• Jordan Feldstein, the longtime manager of Maroon 5 and the older brother of actor Jonah Hill, died Friday evening, December 22 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 40. That’s the word from Variety and several other sources.
Feldstein founded Career Artist Management (CAM), which, in addition to Maroon 5, handled the careers of Miguel, Elle King, Robin Thicke, Rick Springfield, The B-52s and others. Feldstein got his industry start working for ICM and Bill Leopold Management. He and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine were childhood friends, and Feldstein had managed Maroon 5 from its inception, helping guide the band to huge success over the past 15 years, as they sold 20 millions albums worldwide and won three Grammy Awards. Feldstein had also negotiated Levine’s lucrative coaching gig on NBC’s The Voice.
A statement from the Feldstein family issued on Saturday, Dec. 23, reads, “Unfortunately, last night Jordan called 911 for shortness of breath, and when paramedics arrived it was determined he went into full cardiac arrest and passed away shortly thereafter. His family asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time. In lieu of food and flowers, the family will announce a charity in the coming weeks where memorial donations can be made in Jordan’s name.”
Feldstein, who leaves behind two children, was previously married twice, once to Francesca Eastwood, the daughter of Clint Eastwood. The 2013 marriage was later annulled.
