Parker Earns iHeart SVP Stripes
• iHeartMedia has named Amber Parker as Senior Vice President of Programming for the company’s four-station group in Tuscaloosa, AL — Top 40 WZBQ (94.1 ZBQ), Country WTXT (98TXT), AC WACT (96.9 MY FM) and FM Talk WRTR. She will also do middays on WTXT.
Parker earns the transfer and upgrade from iHeartMedia Colorado Springs, where she was PD/midday personality on Rhythmic KIBT (96.1 The Beat) and co-host of the Hillbilly Live night show on Country KCCY (Y96.9). Parker previously did nights on iHeartMedia Country KXBG (Big 97.9)/Ft. Collins, CO, and she began her career at Cromwell Radio Group in Mattoon, IL.
Parker now reports to John Malone, Market President of iHeartMedia Tuscaloosa and Tom Hanrahan, Area SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Birmingham. Hanrahan said, “We’re pumped to have Amber on our iHeart team in T-Town. Amber is passionate about Country music, is incredibly creative and truly connects and engages with her listeners on-air and through social platforms almost 24 hours a day… I’m not sure she has an ‘off’ button.” Malone remarked, “In Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban, the Head Football Coach at the University of Alabama teaches that there is a process necessary for success — it involves having a winning plan, incredible focus, dedication and hard work. Amber possesses all of these qualities. She has already inspired our iHeart Tuscaloosa team and I’m thrilled to have her leading our programming efforts.”
No less thrilled and/or excited is Ms. Parker, who exclaimed, “I’m so thrilled to join the iHeart Tuscaloosa team. I’m ready to hit the ground running to bring creative programming and digital content to T-Town. Plan on seeing a lot of me! I intend to bring more of Nashville to Alabama. Roll Tide!” Your best wishes can be sent to Amber at AmberParker@iheartmedia.com. [Photo by Louisa]
