Historic Moving Day @ KLBJ
• It’s the end of one era — and the beginning of a new one — in the city of Austin, as Waterloo Media Classic Rock 93.7 KLBJ announced that, after 28 years in morning drive, effective Monday, February 3, The Dudley & Bob with Matt Show is moving to afternoons. In the process of relocating, Dale Dudley, Bob Fonseca and Matt Bearden (left), will pass PD LA Lloyd (right) in the hallway as he sets his alarm eight hours earlier and drags all of his earthly belongings into morning drive.
In announcing this historic daypart disruption, SVP/Market Manager Scott Gillmore said, “Austinites listen to the radio in their cars. Afternoon traffic is worse and afternoon commutes are longer. Now the drive home just got way more fun with Dudley & Bob with Matt — and the boys get to sleep in for the first time in decades too!”
Lloyd, who is also known and loved as host of his longtime syndicated show, LA Lloyd’s Rock 30 Countdown, will now pilot the newly branded LA Lloyd’s Morning Drive weekdays from 6-10am. Gillmore added, “Everybody’s talking in the mornings — but now there’s a true Austin pro playing great Classic Rock and getting you to work in a great mood… (cue announcer) — LA Lloyd on 93.7 KLBJ-FM.”
Listeners will be relieved to note that the rest of the KLBJ schedule remains the same — Brian “B-DOE” Bymark remains steadfast in middays, while Creative Director Sierra Loren takes you from 7-midnight.
