JVC Adds Four In Florida
• JVC Media of Florida continues its rapid expansion in the Sunshine State by adding four radio stations in the Fort Walton Beach market — JVC has entered into a definitive agreement with Community Broadcasters, LLC to purchase their four FM signals serving Fort Walton Beach — Top 40 WECQ (Q92), Country WHWY (Highway 98), Adult Hits WWAV (102 The Wave) and Classic Rock WZLB (103.1 The Shark). This will bring JVC’s Florida operation to a total of 11 radio stations, including three in Orlando and four in Gainesville-Ocala, in addition to the company’s five FMs in Nassau-Suffolk, NY.
JVC CEO John Caracciolo said, “We are honored and privileged to welcome WECQ, WHWY, WWAV, and WZLB and its staff to the JVC family. The prior ownership was committed to community service on the Emerald Coast, high quality broadcasting and creating an excellent work environment for its staff, and we will continue that work. We are tremendously impressed with the Fort Walton Beach market and the remarkable growth and resilience of the area even in these unprecedented times.”
JVC Executive Shane Reeve will oversee the integration of the Fort Walton Beach stations into the company and will be responsible for the staffing and operation of the facilities. Reeve is no stranger to the area, having previously managed clusters in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola. Reeve remarked, “I’m thrilled JVC is bringing our live and local approach to the Florida Panhandle and Emerald Coast!”
• Caracciolo tells RAMP that they are actively hiring managers, air talent and salespeople for the new Ft. Walton cluster.
