Petlak Named Host Of Chicago’s Morning Mix
• Hubbard Radio Hot AC WTMX (101. 9 The Mix)/Chicago keeps it in the family and promotes afternoon drive personality Chris Petlak to the new host of The Morning Mix. Petlak begins his new adventure on Jan. 24, plugging in alongside existing Morning Mix cast members Nikki, Whip, Violeta, and Swany — who have admirably held down the fort since last fall’s departure of Eric Ferguson. The announcement of Petlak’s elevation was made by Jimmy Steal, VP of Brand and Content for 101.9 The Mix & 100.3 WSHE.
Petlak has spent the past two years on The Afternoon Mix with Lisa Allen. He previously hosted Mix Eveningsand served as Director of Digital Content for WTMX and WSHE. In his new morning role, Petlak brings a dynamic and diverse set of talent and skills. His past achievements include co-creating, co-writing, and co-starring in The Jamz, an original Netflix sitcom currently airing on Apple TV/Amazon Prime. While temporarily living in Los Angeles, Petlak also worked as Ryan Seacrest‘s Social Media Manager, served as Associate Creative Director at Liquid Advertising and did stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store, Flappers Comedy Club, and The Ice House.
Petlak is a Chicago native who started his career in 2008 with Hubbard Chicago in 2008 as a Promotion Assistant, growing into Hubbard Chicago’s first Social Media Manager. “It’s beyond exciting to start this new chapter and build The Morning Mix alongside Swany, Nikki, Whip and Violeta,” said Petlak. “I’m proud that I’ve been part of the Hubbard Chicago family for so long and grateful that Jeff England, Greg Strassell and Jimmy Steal have entrusted me with this opportunity. Now, it’s time to ask Alexa to set a very early alarm.”
VP/Market Manager Jeff England remarked, “As our new host, Chris brings a unique skillset, sensibility, and set of experience to The Morning Mix. We’re excited about Chris leading our morning efforts with world class content creation, impactful to our listeners, advertisers, and community.”
