BMI To Honor benny blanco
• BMI is excited to announce that hit songwriter, producer and artist benny blanco will be honored with the BMI President’s Award at the 2024 BMI Pop Awards. The private event, hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and Vice President, Worldwide Creative Barbara Cane, will be held tomorrow, June 4 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, CA. BMI’s Pop Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Publisher of the Year and BMI’s 50 most-performed pop songs in the U.S. of the previous year will also be named during the event.
blanco has written and produced hits like “Diamonds” by Rihanna, “Circus” by Britney Spears and “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5, to name just a few, and has collaborating with top-tier artists like Justin Bieber, Kesha, Selena Gomez, SZA, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd and many more. Throughout his career, blanco has amassed 29 No. 1 songs, a Golden Globe nomination and 11 GRAMMY nominations, including Producer of the Year. In 2013 he received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and won the iHeartRadio Producer of the Year Award in 2017. blanco has also accumulated 55 BMI Awards, was named Songwriter of the Year four times and won Pop Song of the Year in 2013 for “Moves Like Jagger.”
