Aerosmith Lands Vegas Residency

• Following in the footsteps of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Cher and Celine Dion (to name a few), Aerosmith announced their own headlining residency in Las Vegas — the show, aptly dubbed “Deuces Are Wild” is tied to the band’s 50th anniversary and launches on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Park Theater at the new Park MGM on the Vegas strip. So far, 18 shows are scheduled through July 9, 2019. As the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, frontman Steven Tyler, guitarists Joe Perryand Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamiltonand drummer Joey Kramer made the official announcement (and performed live) last Wednesday morning on the Today show. As frontman Steven Tylerexplained to Today‘s Hoda Kotb, “First we’re gonna move there…then, we’re gonna shop there.”

The residency, promoted by Live Nation and MGM Resorts International, features “never-seen-before visuals and audio from Aerosmith recording sessions” courtesy of producer Giles Martin, the son of the Beatles’ legendary producer George Martin, who crafted the sound for the Beatles’ amazing LoveCirque du Soleil show at the Mirage in Las Vegas. The band has also teamed with THX and L-Acoustics, who will deliver “the world’s first THX-Certified live performance presented in L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound.” Official presale to Citi members starts today.
