Herrera Comes Home To KCUB/Tucson
• National Sports-Talk personality and programmer Rich Herrera is the newly named PD and afternoon drive host for Cumulus Sports-Talk KCUB-AM (Wildcats Radio 1290)/Tucson, the radio flagship of the University of Arizona. He will continue to host national shows on CBS Sport Radio from the Cumulus Tucson studios. The new gig marks an authentic radio homecoming for Herrera, who was KCUB-AM’s original PD and afternoon host back in 2001 when it launched as Fox Sports Radio 1290.
Herrera returns to Tucson from San Diego, where he worked for Entercom Sports-Talk KWFN (97.3 The Fan)and the Padres Radio Network as Sr. Executive Producer and pre-and post-game show host. He was previously the Director of Radio and pre-and post-game host for the Tampa Bay Rays and a Sports-Talk host for SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio. Other stops include the former WHFS (98.7 The Fan)/Tampa, KMOX/St. Louis and WAXY (790 The Ticket)/Miami.
