Shay Did It — Upped To PD Of KMEL/SF

• iHeartMedia’s 106.1 KMEL/San Francisco, “No. 1 for Hip Hop and R&B in the Bay Area” announced that longtime station veteran Sharon “Shay Diddy” Frank has been elevated to Program Director, effective immediately. She will continue to anchor the midday show as well.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Shay began her journey at 106.1 KMEL as an intern while attending UC Berkeley. After graduating, she held positions in promotions and on-air, and was named Music Director in May 2014.

“Shay’s deep knowledge and passion for the Bay Area community and culture, along with her extensive overall skills make her the perfect leader for this iconic radio station,” said Gene Romano, iHeartMedia EVP of Programming.
