Audacy CFO Schmaeling Resigns
• More changes atop the Audacy executive pyramid — this time, the company announced the resignation of Chief Financial Officer, Rich Schmaeling, effective immediately, to pursue other business opportunities.
“On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank Rich for his contributions to Audacy,” said Kelli Turner, Interim CEO and President, Audacy. “We are well positioned with the finance team in place.”
Schmaeling joined the former Entercom as EVP & Chief Financial Officer in April 2017, transitioning from the CFO post at Travel Leaders Group, the largest travel agency company in the United States. His 35+ year career also includes a stint as CFO of LIN Media, a local TV and digital media provider from 2008 until its acquisition by Media General in December 2014. Prior to joining LIN Media, Schmaeling served as VP of Finance at Dow Jones.
Audacy says it will not name a new Chief Financial Officer in the near term, and notes that Schmaeling will remain available to the Company as needed “to ensure an orderly transition of his responsibilities.”
