Training Tomorrow’s Radio Pros Today
The Western Kentucky University campus in Bowling Green, KY is currently playing host to students from Valparaiso University, Middle Tennessee State University and WKU as the fifth annual KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute got underway yesterday. Over the course of the next ten days, 35 radio pros from all areas of the industry will share their extensive broadcasting knowledge with the students, who will also become certified by the RAB as Radio Marketing Professionals.
Ed Henson of Henson Media in Louisville handled the opening session; Bud Walters, President of Cromwell Radio Group in Nashville will speak at the closing session, as will Henry Lackey, President of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association (KBA). The KBA also underwrites the KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute; hence the handle, “KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute.”
As a special treat for attendees, The Ben Davis and Kelly K morning show from Alpha Media’s WDJX/Louisville will broadcast live from the Radio Talent Institute, with the students serving as the live studio audience.
