Capitol Offices Closed Temporarily

RAMP has learned that the offices in the iconic Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood have been closed indefinitely while the building undergoes unspecified repairs and renovations. Capitol Music Group staffers that aren’t still working from home recently began working temporarily from the nearby NeueHouse Hollywood complex. It’s important to note that the famed Capitol Studios remain open and fully functioning.

RAMP reached out to a CMG spokesperson, who said, “All CMG employees are still working from home or are in hybrid mode; meaning, they mostly work from home, but will get together in-person for meetings or other gatherings. The Tower is under repair for an undetermined period, but all of Hollywood-based CMG will be in their offices in The Tower in the foreseeable future. In the meantime, CMG has rented space at NeueHouse Hollywood for the use of its employees. Come visit!”

Fun Fact: NeueHouse Hollywood is located several blocks away at 6121 Sunset Blvd. at historic Columbia Square, the site of CBS’ Los Angeles radio and television operations from 1938 until 2007. Audacy’s venerable all-news KNX-AM occupied the building for 67 years until 2005.

We understand that no definitive time frame for these repairs/renovations has been estimated, and since Capitol and Universal Music Group are only tenants, any specific repair details would be determined by the building’s owner. The story was first reported by Billboard.
