Oh Sherrie… Steve Perry’s Back!
• For the past quarter-century, music fans around the world have wondered aloud when Steve Perry would once again unleash his amazing voice and release some new music. We are pleased to report that moment will be upon us within the next eight weeks! We know that because Tom Barnard, National Radio Hall of Famer who has hosted the KQ Morning Show on Cumulus Classic Rock KQRS/Minneapolis for the past three decades landed the first interview with Perry, who came in to discuss his first new album in 24 years — Traces is set to be released on October 5 on Fantasy/Concord Music! The first single, “No Erasin'” was just released.
RAMP was fortunate enough to get this first look at the new album cover for Traces, which is comprised of a collection of images tracing Perry’s life and career. Scott Jameson, OM/PD of KQRS and Cumulus VP of Classic Rock told RAMP, “This was more than just an interview promoting a new record — Tom was able to take a deep dive into Steve’s past, sharing stories about his love of radio, his life, and why he decided to walk away from the music business. Steve also shared an emotional story about Kellie Nash, a woman he fell in love with while battling Stage 4 breast cancer and how some songs on Tracesare a tribute to her strength and spirit.”
