iHeartRadio Awards Honor Elton John
• iHeartMedia and FOX announced that Brandi Carlile, Demi Lovato and H.E.R. will perform during a special tribute honoring Elton John with the iHeartRadio Icon Award at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, airing Thursday night on FOX. The award will be presented by Chris Martin and Lil Nas X to honor Elton John’s global impact on pop culture, longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force with a loyal fan base worldwide.
Usher will host and perform during the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, which will also feature previously announced performances from The Weeknd with special guest Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak (Silk Sonic), Dan + Shay and Doja Cat, along with special appearances from LL Cool J, Nelly, Machine Gun Kelly, French Montana, Lil Jon, Robin Thicke, Joel McHale, Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman, Gabby Barrett, Ava Max, Raphael Saadiq, AJR and more, plus previously announced appearances from Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch, twenty one pilots and Megan Thee Stallion.
The 8th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will air LIVE from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday, May 27 (8-10pm ET live / PT tape-delayed) on FOX. The show will also stream on iHeartMedia radio stations on the iHeartRadio app.
iHeartMedia and FOX will also give a sneak peek at the winners of four awards leading up to Thursday’s telecast — beginning at 9am ET tomorrow on East Coast shows, one winner will be announced and give an acceptance speech in the 9am local hour across the four major time zones in the following categories: Country Album of the Year, Country Song of the Year, Dance Album of the Year and Social Star Award. Winners will then be revealed on iHeartMedia’s radio stations and socials. Fan voting will determine this year’s Best Fan Army, Best Lyrics, Best Cover Song, Best Music Video, the Social Star Award, Favorite Music Video Choreography Award and the first-ever TikTok Bop of the Year Award.
