A Whole New ‘Morning Edition’
• Last November it was initially announced Paris Alston and Jeremy Siegel would be the new local co-hosts of Morning Edition at Boston’s GBH News. That new era officially begins today at 5am ET on 89.7 WGBH, as the reimagined Morning Edition launches with co-hosts Alston and Siegel, alongside GBH News’ Karen Marshall, who has been elevated to Executive Producer.
Alston rejoins GBH from Boston University’s WBUR, where she hosted the NPR podcast Consider This, produced in conjunction with GBH. Siegel was most recently the host and producer of the DC-based daily news podcast POLITICO Dispatch.
Pam Johnston, GM of News at GBH, noted, “Paris and Jeremy have the intelligence, energy and authenticity we need to start our mornings right. I know local audiences will relate to their informative and dynamic style.” Beyond the broadcast, Alston and Siegel will engage with listeners throughout the day on social media and a new weekly newsletter, The Wake Up. The audience is encouraged to pitch their own ideas and stories through a submission form on the GBH News website.
NPR’s Morning Edition is the most-listened-to radio program in the country. Morning Edition airs weekdays from 5-10am on the radio and streams online at gbhnews.org and on the GBH News app. The Boston Business Journal has more details about this new show and the evolution of the station.
