Meet “Hall Of Famer” Ted Woodward!
• Congrats to Wichita’s own Ted Woodward, co-host of Woodward & Whit on Audacy News-Talk KNSS/Wichita, who has been named as a 2026 inductee into the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, the organization’s highest honor, celebrating media leaders who have made a lasting impact across the state.
Wichita native Woodward has worked across nearly every local media outlet, including five years as a sports writer for The Wichita Eagle before joining KNSS Radio in 1995, going on to co-host Steve and Ted in the Morning for 28 years alongside recently retired fellow Hall of Famer Steve McIntosh, and winning a Marconi Award in 2017. Fans also know him as “Ted, the Sports Head,” on sister KFH Radio (KNSS-FM) for more than three decades.
Woodward is also synonymous with Wichita sports and entertainment — he has served as the public-address announcer for Wichita State men’s basketball, Shocker baseball (37 years), and Shocker volleyball (36 years), and previously spent 15 years as the official scorekeeper for the Wichita Wranglers.
Off the mic, Woodward has written and performed in Wichita’s annual “Gridiron” show for over 30 years to help raise journalism scholarship funds, and he frequently takes the stage in local theater productions.
Woodward and his fellow 2026 inductees will be honored at the KAB Hall of Fame Dinner on October 18 at the Wichita Marriott.
